Under the leadership of Gary Campbell, Johnson Health Center became the first-ever Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) to achieve the Employer of Choice recognition in 2016. In 2017, the center was named a “Great Place to Work” and in 2018, a top 10 “Emerging Small Business” in Central Virginia.
Gary on The New Leadership Challenge:
“The leadership challenge today is to engage people on a completely different level and with a degree of enhanced visibility that fosters safety and transparency. COVID in and of itself has demanded we do better with our people and handle them with care.
Leadership has and always will be about unleashing the potential in others so that we may serve our patients and customers with excellence. In today’s healthcare climate, there is intense competition for our best employees and the patients we serve. For now, we have an edge because this is what we do however the field will get crowded with large pharmacy retail chains and non-healthcare, global giants alike. How we lead now and in the future will simply determine our relevance going forward.”
