The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) predicts a shortage of 34,000 to 88,000 physicians by 2025. This number increases to 40,000 to 105,000 resulting in uncharted territories ahead.
What does this look like in terms of the number of physicians each of the 6200 hospitals nationwide would be short? The data is staggering and eye-opening. Yes, there are group practices, but for simplicity purposes, we solely calculated a number based on hospitals. As a result, this is what it could look like.
